Sunseeker Australia and Sunseeker International joined forces to make a dream come true for one gorgeous young girl.

Mark Twain once said, “Sing like no one is listening and dance like nobody’s watching.” This is exactly what Temeley did when granted a special wish by Starlight thanks to ToyBox International, Sunseeker Australia and Sunseeker International.

Temeley ,aged ten,has epilepsy and spastic diaplegia, a form of cerebral palsy that affects the lower portions of the body, namely the legs and pelvis area with stiff, inflexible or perpetually contracted muscles. Everyday life can be challenging and demanding, and even the simplest of activities, which many of us take for granted, like running or jumping, can prove very difficult. For children especially, these restrictions are frustrating and hard to endure.

The role of Starlight is to help brighten the lives of seriously ill children, by delivering innovative programs, like wish granting, to restore some fun and laughter that serious illness can take away. “A Starlight Wish is a dream come true for a seriously ill child. It provides a special once-in-a-lifetime experience, which brings a family together and provides memories which stay with them forever,” explains Starlight Children’s Foundation Marketing Coordinator, Nikita Barsby.

When asked by Starlight what her most cherished wish was, seeing her favourite singer, the sassy Alicia Keys live in concert was Temeley’s immediate response. And so, through the donation of a ToyBox International grant, funded by the generous support of Sunseeker International and Sunseeker Australia, Temeley’s wish came true. Temeley and her family were treated to VIP centre stage seating and also popped backstage to meet Alicia in person where the singer happily posed for photographs and signed autographs.

“It means everything to me to see Temeley truly happy and excited about something,” mum Christine explains. “We are very grateful for this opportunity, she has been through a lot in her short life and this has made her forget some of those times, making her feel important and happy.”

The Starlight Children’s Foundation has been touching the lives of children for over 20 years. For Managing Director of Sunseeker Australia, Alf Barbagallo, launching an association with the charity was truly rewarding. “By partnering with ToyBox we are thrilled to be given the opportunity to raise much needed funds for the Starlight Foundation, to enable them to continue their work helping disadvantaged children and their families.”
