RQCC Melbourne 2017

Friday evening, November 25, saw the debut of the premier black-tie event Royal Queensbury Championship (RQCC) held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre and proudly presented by Ronald McDonald House. All money raised on the night goes directly to ToyBox International, a charity dedicated to raising funds to assist and benefit Australia’s sick and disadvantaged children.

The event drew a crowd of Melbourne’s well-suited and glamorously dressed elite, with the likes of the current Miss Australia Caris Tiivel, George Calombaris, Real Housewives of Melbourne star Lydia Schiavello and former Miss Australia Olivia Wells, sitting ringside to cheer on the 22 brave boxers who had put in 10 gruelling weeks of intense training in preparation for their night of nights.

Some big buyers in the crowd dug deep for the charity auction, snapping up amazing items from a limited edition Holden U-Boat watch, to a stay at the exclusive Karma Kandara resort in Bali, and even a one-off painting by David Bromley.

The live auction also presented a wonderful opportunity for children’s charity ToyBox International to help fund one month’s accommodation at Ronald McDonald House or to help renovate and refurbish the new Ronald McDonald House in North Fitzroy. All funds raised on the evening went directly towards ToyBox International, supporting Ronald McDonald House and My Room – Children’s Cancer Charity.

2017 will see the 10th Annual RQCC Perth, set to be the biggest night yet held at the brand new Crown Towers on May the 12th.
