AUTOMATIC DEFIBRILLATORS x 13

a young boy holding an automatic external defibrillator in a bag

FUNDED $32,500

Children with heart rhythm disorders are at risk of sudden cardiac arrest at any time and must always carry an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) with them. AEDs deliver a controlled shock to the child in cardiac arrest and instructs the first responder on how to provide effective CPR.

These children are provided with one AED so they can safely manage their condition however, it is desirable for school-aged children to have a second AED to keep at school, reducing the chance of delayed access to life-saving equipment when needed.

ToyBox has funded 13 new AED’s for PCH that will be distributed to school aged children, allowing them to keep a second device at school.

Special thanks to The John Family who funded over 6 of these life-saving AED’s.13x
