FUNDED $13,200

ToyBox Australia are proud to once again be supporting the Play and Wait Centre at Perth Children’s Hospital.

Hospital visits can be stressful events not only for the sick child, but also their parents and siblings. The Play and Wait centre provides an engaging distraction for children, to take their minds away from the reason for their visit and to add a little fun to their experience. It is well documented how play can be used to alleviate the stress experienced by children and their families during hospital experiences and has had great success at PCH.

Not only does the Play and Wait program provide a welcome distraction for the sick child, but also allows the experience to be more enjoyable for the siblings who come along to appointment. This consequentially makes the overall experience much less stressful to the parents and carers, alleviating some of the pressures of navigating life with a sick child.

ToyBox has funded this program for a whole year, taking potential stress and anxiety out of waiting for an appointment at PCH and keeping kids entertained and engaged.

Funded thanks to fundraising achieved at RQCC 2022.
